We went there last night in a group of four. From beginning to end the experience was excellent. Waiters wait a comfortable distance away to tend to your every need promptly. Nothing is taken away too quickly, and nothing lingers. Your drinks are refilled on time. And, most importantly, we neither felt rushed nor neglected. The service is impeccable. The best part, however, was the food. Everything they brought out was flavorful, and the presentation was excellent. You can tell there is a chef in the kitchen who cares deeply about what he/she is serving. I ordered a ribeye special. The steak was juicy and the red wine sauce was unforgettably delicious. The potatoes had a perfect crispy exterior and soaked up the juices nicely. We also had penne a la vodka. They were happy to add prosciutto to it per our request, and it was prepared perfectly al dente. It was saucy and addicting. The grilled octopus we had to start was also delicious and char grilled nicely. The artichoke appetizer was to die for. Every course had our party ooh-ing and ahh-ing. This was my second time dining out at Mario's, and both experiences were top notch. I highly recommend Mario's for your special occasion or just to dine out and enjoy fantastic food and service. The prices are reasonable as well. Keep up the great work!

9-19-2020 We had my Mom's 85th Birthday dinner at Mario Restaurant last night. What a wonderful experience. Dinner for 14 on the Patio. Service was outstanding. The food was incredible. We had everything from Lobster to veal, to pasta, to fish. All came out timely and absolutely delicious. Mario made a very special day happen for our family. I would recommend this restaurant without any reservation. Well Done.

In my opinion, Mario's is the best Italian restaurant on Long Island, hands down. I had the lobster crepe for an appetizer and the crepes Suzette for dessert. They were both delicious. The crepe tasted like the one that I was introduced to in my senior year of high school when I went on a class trip to the dessert's city of origin, Normandy, France. Rome, Italy-raised restauranteur Mario was standing nearby me at the bar where I was seated. He struck up a conversation with me, and he told me that I ordered two things that were popular 39 years ago when he first opened. He never changed the menu. Nameless bar regulars made my first-time visit enjoyable when one of them bought me a drink. The bartender Alexis fixed me a Campari on the rocks, which I have not had in years. She even offered me complimentary mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. I will definitely return to Mario's whenever I am in the mood for old-school Italian food. This restaurant is Food Fabulous!!!

Mario is a wonderful restaurant owner, comes to greet his guests at the door and takes his time walking around to tend to his guests. We ordered quite a bit of food, everything was fantastic and for a great price. Personally, I had the lamb chops which was a great choice! The restaurant has a large lot and valet available; the decor and atmosphere inside resembles an old school Italian movie. Love it! I would have never known looking from outside in- I'm glad I stopped by!

I had dined here 2 years ago with my fiancée and the food was delicious! I especially loved the chicken Marsala! The reason I never went back was due to the poor service. Our waiter rushed us throughout the entire evening. He really ruined it for us. We ordered a bottle of wine and a couple of apps and were still trying to decide what to order as our main course. This really bothered the waiter who told us repeatedly "I need the food order" "I'm going to need the order when I get back" "Still no decision" not that I was surprised due to his behavior throughout the evening. This left a bad taste in my mouth and although loved the food never returned. Until last week that is! I wanted Bolognese this place came up on yelp and of course I quickly dismissed it due to what previously occurred. My fiancé suggested we just give it another try. We went and pleased to say a far better experience. We didn't make a reservation but were able to get a table. This restaurant is definitely a hot spot for people 70 and over. Not that it bothers me but you won't find a young crowd here. To start service started off a bit shaky but luckily towards the end turned out to be fantastic. Great bread and eggplant capanota is served! Really great! We ordered a chopped Italian salad although not on the menu they made us what what we wanted. Italian chopped salad with assorted pieces of meats and cheeses soooo delicious!!! Spaghetti Bolognese- Yummmmm a must!!!! Fried calamari- so flavorful light and crispy! You don't even need the marinara sauce it tastes great without it! Cappuccino- piping hot but watered down. We enjoyed the Bolognese so much we came two days later! This time we had room for dessert and ordered tiramisu! Amazing!!!! Everything was delicious and service was great prices are reasonable too! I'm glad I gave this place another chance! I look forward to being a loyal customer!
